Professional Paint Thickness Measurement for Modern Vehicles
The Prodig Tech GL-PRO-2-FAZ is a professional paint thickness gauge designed for accurate inspection of modern vehicle bodywork. It automatically identifies steel (Fe) and aluminium (Al) and provides automatic zinc detection on steel panels.
With a 0–2000 µm measuring range, resolution down to 1 µm on steel, a flexible ball-ended precision probe, and memory for 960 measurements, it is ideal for PDR technicians, bodyshops, vehicle inspectors, dealerships and automotive professionals.
Automatic Steel, Aluminium & Zinc Detection
The GL-PRO-2-FAZ automatically distinguishes between:
- Fe – steel
- Fe + Zn – zinc-coated / galvanized steel
- Al – aluminium
Zinc detection provides additional information when inspecting vehicles. Because many original steel panels are galvanized, a change in zinc presence can help identify panels that may have been replaced or repaired.
Zinc detection operates when the zinc coating has a continuous structure and is within the applicable coating-thickness range specified by Prodig Tech.
Precision Probe & Measurement
The flexible built-in ball-ended measuring probe provides accurate, repeatable readings, including on small and curved areas of vehicle bodywork.
