Product information
Der König Honig PDR hot melt adhesive was developed for professional paintless dent repair (DOL/PDR). It supports bodywork professionals and auto repair shops in efficiently and precisely repairing hail and parking dents without altering the vehicle's surface through painting.
The special adhesive formula combines high tensile strength with a short setting time. This makes the adhesive particularly well suited for glue-pull procedures, in which dents are pulled out of the sheet metal using pulling tabs and suitable tools.
Suitable for metal and aluminum
Der König Honig PDR hot melt adhesive is designed for use on metal and aluminum vehicle bodies. The bond provides reliable force transmission during dent pulling and can be removed from the surface after the repair.
The adhesive remains flexible even under varying ambient and surface temperatures. This is particularly important in professional dent repair, as temperature and material properties have a direct influence on adhesion and release behavior.
The advantages of König Honig
High pulling force for effective glue-pull applications
Short setting time for a fast workflow
Easy to remove from the surface
Elastic behavior, even at challenging temperatures
Suitable for DOL/PDR dent repair
Ideal for hail, parking, and minor body damage
Developed for professional workshop use
With its combination of high load-bearing capacity and short curing time, König Honig is a high-performance choice for professional glue-pull applications.
What factors influence the result?
The performance of a PDR hot melt adhesive depends not only on the adhesive used. Several factors play a role in achieving optimum force transmission:
- Temperature of the adhesive in the hot glue gun
Recommended application temperature: approximately 170–180 °C. - Ambient temperature
Cold or very warm working conditions can affect the setting and release behavior. - Temperature of the vehicle body
The surface temperature has a significant influence on the adhesive's bonding strength. - Humidity
Ambient humidity can also affect the processing properties. - Condition of the sheet metal
Material thickness, hardness, and elasticity of the vehicle body affect the pulling force required. - Pulling tool used
Depending on the tool, the adhesive bond is subjected to different levels of stress. - Setting time
The adhesive should be allowed to cool sufficiently and establish a stable bond before pulling force is applied.
When working on a cold vehicle body, it is recommended to carefully warm the relevant area with a hair dryer before application. This can improve the conditions for achieving a reliable adhesive bond.
Before applying the adhesive, the vehicle body should be thoroughly degreased with denatured alcohol and cleaned of dirt, grease, and other residues.
The required setting time depends on the surrounding conditions and the temperature of the vehicle body.
Slide hammer: approx. 5–6 seconds
Mini lifter: approx. 10–12 seconds
The comparatively short setting time enables an efficient workflow and is particularly suitable for repairs requiring multiple pulling operations in succession.
